What a gift does
-
$50 - is one lesson A single voice or piano lesson for one child, taught by a working musician.
-
$2,000 - is a year of lessons Forty lessons at $50 each. A sponsor at this level follows one student from the first hello to the first song.
-
$0 - to the family The student and the family never pay. A keyboard with at least 61 keys is all a student needs.
How it works
Three steps from the first hello to the first song.
-
Step 1
Apply
A short application on this site. Applications are read as they come in, and there is no cost to the student or the family.
-
Step 2
Interview
A team member schedules a virtual or phone interview with the parent or guardian and the student. Within a few weeks the family hears the enrollment status and the assigned teacher.
-
Step 3
Lessons begin
A 12-week vocal course, or weekly piano. A keyboard with at least 61 keys is all a student needs. Lessons happen over Zoom, or in person case by case.
In partnership with University Health
Music at the bedside, for children facing cancer and serious illness.
Music For All Hearts works with University Health, San Antonio's public hospital system, to bring group music sessions to children in treatment at its pediatric hospital. A child with a long stay ahead still gets to sing, to try a keyboard, and to finish a song with other children. Sessions are led in person by our teachers, under the hospital's health and safety rules, at no cost to any family.
This is the heart of what we do. A gift to Music For All Hearts reaches these children first.
Teach with us
Musicians: teach a child who could not otherwise learn.
Volunteer and paid teachers give voice and piano lessons to students across San Antonio, Austin, and the surrounding areas, mostly over Zoom. If you teach voice or piano, we would love to meet you.
